waiting as long as it takes for the Lord to rescue me.
For God alone has become my Savior.

Sometimes, our trials can feel like they will never end. I'm sure we have all related to the Psalmists, "How long, Oh Lord, How long?" in Psalm 94 at some point in our lives. I have had to remind myself during this quarantine that God operates according to His own plan and timeline. Which when you really think about it is a really good thing. Our whole world would be in complete chaos if we all had our prayers answered right away. It reminds me of the scene in Bruce Almighty, where Bruce clicks "answer" on every prayer in the world without reading them. If you have seen the movie, you will remember all the havoc that was wreaked afterwards. We do not know the whole story and therefore do not know what is best for us. In our culture we want things and we want them now! We have become accustomed to instant gratification. When is the last time you waited for something without distractions? Our culture has us convinced that taking a break every once in a while is equal to being a lazy person. When I have felt discouraged and angered by this quarantine I remind myself that this is God's special pause He made for us. We can use this time at home to dig into God's glorious presence. The next time that you feel overwhelmed or stressed "stand silently to listen for the one you love" . I encourage you to take a few minutes everyday to do this. You may be surprised about what is revealed to you as you sit and reflect on your life from God's perspective, have a journal with you so you can write stuff down. Have one raw, real, unplanned and unscheduled moment with your Creator and your Savior.
